From Aug. 26th until Sept. 27th, Studierendenwerk Mannheim offers emergency accommodations. A total of 16 spots are available and are furnished with basic furniture and are easily accessible with public transportation. Each emergency accommodation has a shared bathroom incl. sink and shower facility. A sleeping bag and sleeping pad should be brought along. Room assignments will occur separately between men (1) and women (2) with a total of 8 places for each. First semester students, who have no accommodation and could not be offered a room in one of the residences of Studierendenwerk Mannheim, can call the respective Hausbetreuer for emergency accommodations.
Please bring your Letter of Acceptance or enrollment certificate as well as your student ID, when you register for the emergency accommodation. If you’re not able to prove that you are a student in Mannheim we can not provide accommodation!
11,00 EUR for the first night, 6,00 EUR for each following night. Payment is due upfront.
A security deposit of 40,00 EUR for the key will be required.
Valuables should be stored in a locker at the main train station! Please bring only what you need to stay the night at the emergency accommodation. Studierendenwerk Mannheim does not assume liability for valuables or other belongings.
A maximum of 7 nights can be booked in advance. If the space is available, the duration of stay can be extended. If you want to extend, please book additional nights one day before your stay ends, or your spot will be given away.
Keys have to be given back to the Hausbetreuer after the last night, Mon - Thu between 1pm - 3pm, Fri between 10am - noon. If the keys are not returned within the normal operating hours, an additional night must be paid. Keys can not be given to others, and if you lose your key your deposit will be kept by the Studierendenwerk Mannheim.

Piece of advice: Not only Mannheim, but also the surrounding areas (Ludwigshafen, Frankenthal, Lampertheim etc.) are well connected with busses and trams. It might be an advantage to widen your search radius to those areas also.
