Are you new to Mannheim and have just moved into the dorm? Then first of all: Welcome!

Moving to a new city and starting your studies brings many new impressions with it – but don’t worry, with this short checklist you’ll have the most important to-dos at a glance. This way you can start your new chapter relaxed!

After moving in

• Set up your room & make it cozy
• Set up Wi-Fi (see Internet instructions below)
• Get to know your roommates & neighbors
• Agree on a cleaning schedule & common rules (kitchen, bathroom, etc.)

Damage/defects in the room?

Please report them directly to the Mieterportal 24h below – our facility management will take care of it as soon as possible.

Arriving in Mannheim

• Register with the Mannheim Citizen Service (within 14 days)
• Have your Wohnungsgeberbestätigung ready (received with the move-in report)
• Find important places nearby: supermarket, shopping facilities, pharmacy, family doctor, public transportation

Arriving & feeling at home

• Get to know university sports or initiatives
• Meet freshers and other hall of residence residents at events or flat-sharing evenings
• Find your favorite place – e.g., the Water Tower, Neckarwiese, or Jungbusch
